Despite the “war” in progress with the Hungarian Tokai (actually a totally different type of wine), the Tocai will always remain an important part of the Friuli wine list.
Tocai Valchiarò is a great well-structured dry white wine, straw-yellowed with greenish hues, with typical after-aroma of bitter almond. Intense fragrance with scents of wild flowers and apple. It should be drunk young, better within fours years since the vintage year.
It perfectly matches with San Daniele rare ham, fat cheeses and pasta.
Serve at 12-14°C (53-57°F).
