Well-structured solid wine, tannic with a whole of wild grass scents.
Alike Merlot, also the Cabernet arrived in Friuli at the end of the 19th century finding it as a perfect place to grow up and being fruitful. It’s the second most popular grape in Friulia after the Merlot. In our region most people like it pretty young to get the most of its intensity.
Cabernet Valchiarò - a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc - is also good for ageing thanks to the long maceration which gives it a solid tannic mixture of flavours.
It goes with wild meat and flavoured roasts.
Serve at 17- 18°C (62-64°F).
